This is my 30th year in the classroom. Most of those years have been in first grade. I love to see expressions of accomplishments when children learn to read and just keep getting better and better. My favorite part of the day is when we are gathered around the rocking chair enjoying a book. I want each child to be the best that he/she can be and to be accepting of others. Children's smiles and hugs make each day special.

This is my 7th year at Chase County Elementary. I’ve taught both fourth and first grades. Currently, I am teaching first grade. I like teaching because each day is different and filled with many surprises. First graders are very energetic and eager to learn new things. Watching them learn and seeing their smiling faces are very rewarding. Math, science and read aloud time are some of my favorite parts of the day. My goal is for each child to always try his/her hardest to do this/her best and to have fun while he/she is doing it.
