The Kansas Legislature continues to review and consider all factors relevant to next year’s state budget, which begins on July 1, 2009. Absolutely no budget decisions for FY10 have been at this time. There are a large number of legislative budget proposals and counter-proposals being considered and debated but so far no official legislative decisions. The school district receives periodic electronic budget updates from the department of education (KSDE) and the Kansas Association of School Boards (KASB). These updates provided detailed and accurate analysis and projections of what is being considered and eventually approved in Topeka. Currently the budget updates received from KSDE and KASB are shared electronically with all district staff members.
To allow all district shareholders (parents and patrons) an opportunity to receive the budget information indicated above, the school district is creating a new USD 284 Shareholder Email Distribution List. This email list will be used to share all budget updates and information with the shareholders whose email addresses are included on the distribution list. If you would like to have your email address added to this distribution list please request inclusion by sending an email to that effect to me at my email address of gregm@usd284.org The email address you send on your email request will be electronically added to the shareholder distribution system and you will beginning receiving local, state and federal budget updates and data as they become available. Your email address can be removed from this distribution list at any time by a simple request to do so.
