Chase County Schools hit GOLD STAR bonanza on 2011 State Assessments
USD 284 students and teachers have earned great rewards for their 2011 state assessment results according to the KSDE Building report cards recently released. Math and Reading are tested in grades 3-8 and 11. Chase County Elementary and Chase County Jr./Sr . High Schools each received Standard of Excellence designation building wide in both Reading and Math. Individual classes earned Gold Stars on their Report Cards for reaching Standard of Excellence on 17 of the 19 possible reports. One grade missed making the mark in each subject area but all grades were represented on at least one. A FANTASTIC ACCOMPLISHMENT!
AYP results were reported last spring and the schools knew at that time that they had done a good job during the testing season as both schools met AYP targets. These report cards indicate the high level of success that was actually achieved. The results are really appreciated as we remember that the district was actually designated for “On Watch” status for having a low subgroup on 2010 assessments.
Congratulations to the Students and Teachers of USD 284 for the job they did with planning, preparation, effort, persistence and rewarded with EXCELLENCE!!!
