CCMS Science
The fifth graders at CCMS are currently studying the Solar System in science. We are researching many facts about planets, stars, comets, galaxies and other heavenly bodies in space. The students are putting together a book of facts about our solar system as well as objects that occur in the universe. They will be writing a story about space and then paragraphs of facts concerning each of the planets. After they have finished writing their paragraphs they will be illustrating their books. Two students became so interested in our research they constructed an Incredible Edible Solar System one weekend and brought it to school.

The sixth graders at CCMS are investigating Landforms in science. They are conducting many investigations to determine how erosion and deposition occur in nature. By understanding these concepts they can better understand how the earth formed as well as processes that continue all around us. Later in this unit we will build a foam mountain and then study how to make a topographical map.
