Congratulations HS Scholars Bowl on the 2 place finish at regionals!

Congratulations to the following forensics contestants on your final placings at the “Abilene” tournament. Aidan Shaw and Mayah Dorsey got 3 place in IDA. Laura Koch and Abbey Vega got 4 place in IDA. Paden Jahnke got 3 place in International Extemp. She will be mailing the medals out to these students. 

HS Forensics, Osage City will be hosting a virtual meet. Recorded entries are due Feb. 14 and I believe this also includes draw events. Please let me know if you are interested!

JH Quiz Bowl, the NLC meet has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 16. Please sign up!

Due to the extreme weather conditions predicted for this weekend, we are canceling our Valentines’ balloons and candy fundraiser, which was scheduled for pick up on Saturday afternoon. We greatly appreciate all the support we have had in this activity, and we will schedule again for next year. Stay home and stay safe!

Winter Court candidates, we will take a group photo Wednesday at 7:55 a.m. Meet by Spike’s house.

Spirit Week dress-up days for Winter Courts will begin tomorrow. Next Tuesday is Winter Courts.

Mrs. Remy is going to try to put together a “Voices” type group for the spring. Any higher schooler wanting to come and sing, please come to the bandroom at 7:40 a.m. on Wednesday and Friday. We are going to work on a piece for some type of end of the year concert and graduation. No auditions required, just a desire to come and sing!

Prom committee will have a meeting in the auditorium at 12:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9.

Valentine sales will look a little different this year. Valentine balloons will go on sale Monday. Posters will be placed around the school and on The Chase Online Facebook page with ordering information. Balloons and candy items will be available for pick-up at the high school on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 13. More information to follow. 

Need some chicken enchiladas for a Valentine’s dinner? We will have up to 40 pans (10 enchiladas in each pan) for pick-up on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 13 for $20 a pan. Please email Mrs. Drake, drakel@usd284.org, to order. No extra orders will be taken after 40 pans are sold.  

Students interested in going out for golf will have a meeting on Feb. 11 at 12:25 p.m. in the auditorium. If you are worried you don’t have clubs, we have some clubs you can use.

How would you like to visit the Mediterranean Shores (Barcelona, Nice, Florence, Rome) in March of 2022? An informational meeting will be held on Feb. 11 at the Saffordville United Methodist Church at 6:30 p.m. If you cannot attend the meeting, see Mrs. Eidman for more information.

KSHSAA rules have changed regarding spectators. We must follow the policies away schools have set.

The Feb. 5 game against Hartford will only allow two parents and that list has been submitted.

The Feb. 9 game against MDCV will have tickets issued for this game.

Any Feb. home games will allow each player, cheer or dance member four tickets to be used as they wish.
