Flint Hills Shoot Out Updated Bracket for the Girls
Round 1 is complete. The high school girls will play at 3:00 today (Friday) in Emporia.
The Lady Bulldogs beat Council Grove, 58-52.
Updated Flint Hills Shoot Out Bracket for the High School Boys after Round 1!
The boys team plays Friday at 4:30 pm.
Additional Spirit Clinic practice Wednesday, January 24 from 5:30-6:15 PM. Performance still during halftime of the boys game Thursday, January 25. Wear your blue Winter Wonderland shirt to school and the performance that day! If you would like videos of the material to practice, contact Mrs. Barrett.
With concerns about additional drifting, the road conditions, and wind chills in the morning, USD 284 will not have school tomorrow. HS wrestlers will not go to Bluestem.
HS Boys Basketball Tournament Update:
The Flint Hills Shoot Out Tournament bracket for the high school boys basketball team has been updated a bit. The team will now play Central Heights on Wednesday at West Franklin at 5 pm.
USD 284 Schools will have a two-hour delay on Monday, January 15. We will continue to monitor conditions tomorrow morning. Buses will run two-hours later than normal. Building doors will unlock at 9:35 am. No morning preschool and no breakfast served. Please make sure that students are dressed in warm clothes and coats with gloves and hats.
Little Dribblers for this Saturday is cancelled. They will resume next Saturday for a 2 hour practice from 9:30-11:30 am on January 20th.
JH BB Update:
In an effort to plan ahead due to the weather, changes have been made to the junior high League Basketball Tournament. We appreciate your understanding in all the changes that have resulted from the weather already. The tournament is now being held in Council Grove AND Osage City. Both locations will have boys and girls playing. The Chase County BOYS will play in Council Grove, and the GIRLS will play in Osage City. The tournament will also ALL be held on WEDNESDAY, and both teams will play two games on that day. Please read the bracket carefully. The location is in the top right corner.
HS BB Update:
In an effort to plan ahead due to the weather, changes have been made to the Flint Hills Shoot Out that the high school basketball teams play in next week. The dates have been changed to Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. As a result, the Wednesday games for the BOYS will be in different locations; please notice the location on the bracket. The Thursday, Friday, and Saturday games will be in Emporia as planned. Please notice times on the bracket as well. Games will start in the morning on Friday.
The high school basketball game versus Mission Valley tonight has been canceled. We will update you if it it is rescheduled.
The Spirit Clinic has been rescheduled since tonight's game is cancelled. The high school basketball game vs. Osage City (originally reschedule for Tuesday, Jan. 9) has been rescheduled to Thursday, Jan. 25 at 4:30 pm. The Spirit Clinic will be held that night during halftime of the boys varsity game.
Reminder that the spirit clinic is tonight from 6 to 7:30 in the North gym at the high school. Doors will be unlocked until 6:20

JH Basketball Tournament Brackets for Monday, Jan. 15 and Wednesday, Jan. 17
HS BB Update:
The HS basketball game at Lyndon is still on. The JV games will start at 4:30 pm. The JV girls will only be playing one half. Immediately following the JV girls, we will move into the varsity girls game instead of waiting; therefore, the varsity girls could start as soon as 5:00 pm. The varsity boys will play following the varsity girls game. Start times for the varsity games are moved up! Please plan accordingly.
Due to some league districts cancelling school today, the JH tournament will NOT be held today. Instead, we will play Monday for Round 1. The tournament will now be single elimination, one loss and the team is out. Rounds 2 and 3 will both be held on Wednesday.

The HS basketball game vs. Osage City that was scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 9 has been rescheduled. Chase County will host Osage City on Thursday, Jan. 25 at 4:30 pm.
JH BB Tournament Changes:
The JH basketball teams will play tomorrow in the first round of the tournament in Council Grove. Rounds 2 and 3 have been moved to Monday, January 15 and Wednesday, January 17 in a double elimination tournament.
