JH Basketball teams , HS Basketball teams, and HS Wrestling team will practice after school today until 5:15. Parents, if you would like to have your athlete come home after school (instead of going to practice) due to the weather forecast, please call the CCJSHS office to notify school personnel.
USD 284 invites all community members to attend a **superintendent input meeting** on **Wednesday, January 15, 2025**, at **5:30 p.m.** in the **Chase County Junior/Senior High Commons area**.
This is a valuable opportunity to share your thoughts on the traits and characteristics you’d like to see in our next superintendent. Your insights are important in shaping the future of our schools!
The session will take approximately **45 minutes**. We encourage everyone to participate and help guide this important decision.

JH BB Update:
The JH basketball game scheduled for tonight (Thursday, Jan. 9) vs. Lyndon is cancelled.
USD 284 will have school tomorrow, but we will have a two-hour delay. Buses will run two hours later, and doors will open two hours later. CCES start time is 10:15, and CCJSHS start time is 10:05. No breakfast served, and no morning preschool.
USD 284 will not have school tomorrow and no activities. Although Highway 50 is in excellent condition, we still have highways and roads that are completely snow/ice packed.
JH BB Update:
The brackets for the JH Basketball League Tournament are available. The girls will play Monday, Jan. 13 at 3 pm, and the boys will play Monday, Jan. 13 at 6:45 pm. Both games will be in the middle school gym.
HS BB Update:
The high school basketball game with Mission Valley has been rescheduled to Monday, Jan. 13 at 5 pm at Mission Valley. This will only be varsity games.
USD 284 Chase County will be closed tomorrow (Tuesday, Jan. 7). All activities are cancelled. No school tomorrow.

The JH BB game vs. Osage City scheduled for tomorrow (Monday, Jan. 6) has been cancelled. With the league tournament next week, the game with Osage City will not be rescheduled.
Just a quick reminder that USD 284 does not have school scheduled for tomorrow (Monday, January 6) due to a professional development day. School will resume Tuesday, Jan. 7.
The football awards banquet scheduled for tomorrow evening will be rescheduled when the 8-man All-Star selection is complete.

The JH basketball teams return to action the first week back from break with three home games. They will play
Monday, Jan. 6 here vs. Osage City (4:30 pm),
Tuesday, Jan. 7 here vs. Cair Paravel (4:30 pm),
and Thursday, Jan. 9 here vs. Lyndon (4:30 pm).
The game with Cair Paravel is a calendar change.
JH BB Update:
Tuesday, Jan. 7, the JH Bb teams will host Cair Paravel here starting at 4:30. Due to official shortage, we will only be in one gym. We will play 1/2 B girls, 1/2 B boys, A girls, and then A boys.
HS Girls BB Schedule Change:
The high school girls basketball team will NOT play on Tuesday, Jan. 28 vs. Peabody. Instead, the team will play on Friday, Jan. 31 @ Herington at 6 pm.
HS Wrestling Schedule Change:
The Herington Wrestling Tournament has been split into two days. The girls will wrestle on Friday, Jan. 10, starting at 4:00. The boys will wrestle on Saturday, Jan. 11, starting at 9:30 am.
HS Wrestling practice resumes tomorrow at 4. Schedule for the week; Monday 4, Wednesday at 8:00 am and Friday at 4:00 pm.
