The CCJSHS Winter Concert will be held on MONDAY, January 24 2 6 pm in the CCJSHS Auditorium. The outside auditorium doors will be open.
HS Basketball Update (Calendar Change - Time and Locations)

BOYS @ Peabody. 1/2 of a JV game starting at 6 pm. The varsity will start at approximately 7 pm
GIRLS @ Herington. Varsity game only. 6 pm start time.
The following will apply to ANYONE interested in obtaining ANY new CDL LICENSE for any reason:
Starting on February 7, every person interested in obtaining a CDL for any reason (drive school bus, drive semi, etc.) will be required to complete ELDT (Entry Level Driver Training) which included Theory Training and Behind the Wheel driving training. The training is not required before taking the DMV written test, but it will be required prior to taking the DMV driving test. The completion of both types of training will have to be electronically documented by a registered trainer.
As a district, we will be helping bus drivers with this and will be providing the training. We need and will be needing bus drivers. Please consider getting your CDL with the S and P endorsement to help us. We need route substitute drivers and activity drivers now. We might be needing route drivers in the future.
If you want to avoid the ELDT training, you must pass your DMV written test (obtain your permit) prior to Feb. 7.

The high school boys basketball team will play Thursday, Jan. 20 @ 7:30 pm in Emporia vs. West Franklin.

The junior high basketball tournament will be played on Monday at William Allen White Arena/Civic Auditorium in Emporia. The high school league tournament will begin after the junior high games in the same location. The following start times are approximate; they could start earlier or later. There will NOT be an admission charge for the JUNIOR HIGH games, but admission WILL BE charged for the high school games ($5/$3).

The junior basketball tournament will NOT be played today or Saturday. It has been cancelled. We don't know if it will be rescheduled. The junior high boys will be practicing tonight. The junior high girls will NOT practice tonight.
CCJSHS Office Job Opening
Chase County USD #284 has an opening for a full-time (10 month) office position at Chase County Junior/Senior High School. Official position will begin August 1, 2022 with training opportunities during the spring. Computer skills and ability to work with students, staff and patrons are a necessity. The basketball games for Friday, Jan. 14 have been cancelled due to Covid numbers at the high school level. It is unknown if we will reschedule the game at this time. We will keep you updated on any further changes.

We do not plan to use the makeup school day on Monday, January 17. We will NOT be having school on Monday, Jan. 17.

Council Grove currently has a mask mandate. All individuals that are not participating must wear a mask. Players and officials will not need to wear a mask while on the court. Spectators will need a mask to enter the building.
As part of our ESSER III funding from the federal government, the district needs to survey the community, school staff, and students on various topics as we plan for the spending.
