The JH track team hosted the FHJL meet yesterday. The Bulldogs competed great in their final meet and won 41 medals! The 7th grade girls won the league championship in their division scoring 145 pts. The 7th grade boys placed 4th (73 pts), 8th grade girls placed 4th (47 pts) and the 8th grade boys placed 6th (41 pts). Thank you to everyone that worked the meet yesterday and supported the Bulldogs!

Please join us for the CCES Spring Music Program, "There's No Place Like Home" this Thursday, May 15 at 7 p.m. in the CCES Gym. Doors open at 6:30. Students need to be in their seats at 6:50. Band students please come at 6:40. Students are welcome to dress western, but it's not required.

The JH track team competed at the Wabuansee track meet on Friday against some bigger schools and good competition. Zeke Maggard, Trigg Rogers, Paxton Doty and Isaac Harshman set a school record with a time of 1:51.28 in the 7th grade boys' 4x200m relay. Lydia Rains added to her school record in the 7th grade girls’ high jump clearing 4’ 10”. The JH Bulldogs will finish their season at the FHJL track meet at home on Tuesday, starting at 10:30am.

Sports Physicals
2025-2026 School Year
Hello Bulldog Family!
The Chase County Family Health Clinic will be offering sports physicals to our students for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year!
Cost is $10, no insurance accepted.
Scheduling for a sports physical will begin at 3:00 PM on May 14th and will conclude shortly after 6:00 PM.
If needed, we are looking at another date the following week!

Current sports physical packets may be picked up at the CCJSHS or the district office. ALL signatures are required BEFORE the student can be seen!
Most insurances cover sports physicals 100% if you schedule your student a Well Child Check, which involves a little more thorough assessment. Call the Chase County Family Health Clinic or your primary care physician’s office for more details!
The high school regional track will be held on Thursday, May 22 at Eureka at 2 pm. This is a calendar change. It is on the calendar for May 23, but it will be on May 22.
HS Softball/Baseball Update:
The game on Thursday, May 8 will be SOFTBALL ONLY here at 4 pm. The baseball team will not be playing Burlingame. Instead the baseball team will travel to North Lyon County on Friday, May 9 for a 4:00 start.
The JH track team faced tough competition on Friday at the Burlington Middle School Invitational. The 7th grade girls won their 2nd consecutive meet scoring 157 pts. The 7th grade boys and the 8th grade boys & girls each placed 7th overall. The 7th grade girls relay team of Annette Neff, Janae Ingalls, Mena Lincoln and Lydia Rains broke the school record for the 4x400m with a time of 4:42.08. Lydia Rains also improved on her school record in the high jump, clearing 4' 9".
Great Job to state Forensics competitors today. Avery Beyer and Reace Harshman got 1 ranking in IDA at State Festival. Wren Burton competed at the State Championship tournament and made it to semi finals in humorous solo and also competed in poetry. Special thanks to Linda Drake and Ashlee Williams for helping make it possible for these students to compete.
The golf team won the Western Plains tournament southwest of Hays. Caleb Dexter won the tournament with a 9 over score of 79. Piper Vogel got 2nd. Wyatt Edmunds played his best round ever to help the team win it.
The golf team will also be hosting the sand greens state golf tournament on Tuesday, May 27 at our home course!

Great meet for the JH track team at Flinthills on Tuesday, April 29. Each team had their best overall finishes of the season, with several PRs set. The 7th grade girls had their first meet win of the season scoring 154 pts, the 7th grade boys finished 2nd, and the 8th grade boys and girls each finished 3rd. Bella Mushrush, Cora Kohlmeier, Janae Ingalls and Lydia Rains broke the 7th grade girls school record in the medley relay. They ran a time of 2:05.86 and broke a record that was set in 1987 (38 years ago)! CONGRATULATIONS, everyone!
We are planning to have the CCES Field Day tomorrow (Wednesday, April 30)! The forecasts continue to change (even since noon), and we will continue to monitor, but let's plan on having some fun. Please send your students dressed in layers as temps will be in the 60's.

Knowing that many of you are wondering about the CCES Field Day, we continue to monitor the weather. Forecasts are changing and vary based on which source you use. We plan to reassess the situation this evening for the latest forecast and make a final decision by 6:30 pm so parents have time to plan for preschool students and for work schedules. A junior high track meet has been added to the schedule. The team will travel to Wabaunsee on May 9, starting at 10.
The high school baseball and softball teams will be traveling to Olpe tomorrow (Tuesday, April 29). Game time is 4:00 pm. Olpe's StuCo is hosting a fundraiser.
