Substate brackets have been released! Both teams will host next week! The boys play on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 7 pm, and the girls play Friday, Feb. 28 at 7 pm. Let's go, Bulldogs!



High School Volleyball Assistant Coach Wanted
Are you passionate about volleyball and dedicated to inspiring the next generation of athletes? Chase County is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled coach to assist our girls' high school volleyball teams. If you have a background in coaching, and commitment to nurturing young talent, we want you on our team!
Position: High School Assistant Volleyball Coaches
Location: Chase County Jr./Sr. High School
Commitment: Part-time
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement practice plans that focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team environment where every player feels valued and motivated to improve.
• Teach fundamental volleyball techniques, strategies, and game concepts appropriate for high school athletes.
• Uphold high standards of sportsmanship, discipline, and respect both on and off the court.
Qualifications:
• Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school or youth level.
• Sound knowledge of volleyball rules, strategies, and player development techniques.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
• Availability for weekday afternoon practices and weekend tournaments.
• Background check and relevant certifications may be required.

If you just received a text message stating we were not having school, that was a glitch in the system. Please notice the date. We WILL have school tomorrow with regular start time. Again we will have school on Friday, Feb. 21.

Aron Dody will be interviewing today for the position of Superintendent of Schools for USD 284 effective 7-1-25. Mr. Dody is currently serving as an Educational Consultant for Southeast Kansas Education Service Center.
The interview schedule will remain altered due to school not being in session. At 3:30 p.m. Mr. Dody will be touring the buildings with current Superintendent Glenna Grinstead, followed by a formal interview in executive session with the Board of Education at 7 p.m.

Parent-teacher conferences and advisory scheduled for tomorrow (Feb. 20) will be rescheduled for Thursday, March 6 due to school being closed tomorrow..

The JH quiz bowl schedule for tomorrow has been cancelled. It will be rescheduled.

John West will be interviewing today for the position of Superintendent of Schools for USD 284 effective 7-1-25.
Mr. West is currently serving as Superintendent at Altoona-Midway and has been in that capacity since 2022. The interview schedule has changed due to no school due with the adverse weather conditions. Mr. West will be touring buildings with current Superintendent Glenna Grinstead this afternoon at 3:30 pm, followed by a formal interview in executive session with the Board of Education at 7 pm.

Due to the blowing snow, road conditions and wind chill, USD 284 will not be in school tomorrow, February 19th. Stay warm and be safe if you have to be outside.

The high school boys lost 46-48 to Madison.

The high school girls won 45-40 in overtime over Madison! Congratulations, girls!!

Due to the forecasted weather, USD 284 will be closed on Tuesday, February 18th. No school and all activities are canceled. Thank you.

Senior Parent’s Night for basketball, dance, and cheer will take place on Monday, February 17, between the varsity girls’ and boys’ games against Madison. We look forward to celebrating our seniors and their families!

HS Girls Regional Wrestling Update:

Due to the predicted weather next week, picture day is now on March 6th instead of February 18th for the CCES spring photos. Thank you for your understanding!

Spirit Clinic Reminder!
Practice is tonight at 6:45 PM in the south gym at CCJSHS. Please remember to wear your clinic shirt, black bottoms, and tennis shoes.
Performance will be during halftime of the boys game. After practice the Students should sit with their parent/guardian until an announcement is made.
