Open Enrollment Process

Open Enrollment Policy

Chase County Public Schools welcomes nonresident student enrollment at schools with available capacity, as provided under Kansas House Bill 2567. The law requires districts to admit nonresident students when open seats are available. Please view the district’s Policy JBCC for additional information about nonresident student enrollment.

Dates to Know

• Non-resident Applications Open: January 1 – June 15, 2026

• District Enrollment Capacity Determined: On or before May 1, 2026

• Non-resident Open Enrollment Applications Reviewed: June 16 – June 30, 2026

• Notification of Decision: On or before July 30, 2026

Important Information
Transportation may not be provided for students attending a school outside their attendance boundaries. Once admitted through the non-resident open enrollment process, students may continue attending Chase County Schools from kindergarten through 12th grade, provided they remain in good standing. Eligibility to participate in Kansas State High School Activities Association activities for open-enrollment students will be determined according to KSHSAA policies.
